David Bartrés-Faz
David Bartrés-Faz is a cognitive neuroscientist and Full Professor at the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Barcelona, trained in Neuropsychology, Brain Imaging and non-invasive brain stimulation. Dr Bartrés-Faz’s principal line of research is that of cognitive aging, with particular focus in understanding the modifiable factors and neural plasticity mechanisms that explain resilience and maintenance of brain and mental health in advanced age and early dementia. Since 2004 he has been principal investigator (PI) of 8 consecutive Spanish National Competitive research projects and PI for the University of Barcelona in two European Consortia projects. He sit on the Director’s board of the ‘Institute of Neuroscience’ at the University of Barcelona, and have been awarded a ‘Ramon y Cajal’ and an ‘ICREA Academia’ Awards for Research Excellence by the Spanish and Catalan Governments.
